I think the better question this week is what's not on my desk? It looks like I have pulled out a large chunk of my card making supplies and not gotten super far with what I am doing. There's a good reason for that, I haven't! One of my co-workers has requested a special card for her daughters birthday and I'm not sure what I am going to do. A couple of ideas are zooming around in my head (like the base for a box card you can see), but I don't know which I want to do. I know, first world problems!
Anyhow, here it is, in all it's glory.
To join in the fun, pop over and visit Julia and she'll have all the deets.
Thanks for stopping by.

Rocking Your World Friday--Week 16
This week has fairly flown by, as has the first quarter of the year. The more birthdays I celebrate, the quicker they seem to come round!
I'll start with my smiles for the week. Such an intent look on his face! I'm not sure what his Mommy was doing, but I'm not sure he was pleased about it LOL.
And this, just because it made me giggle.
Now, onto the positives for the week.
The little Gorgeous had her second swimming lesson and had a grand time. And after swimming, Nana had a grand time as she convinced everyone that we needed to go out for an all day breakfast. Yum.
According to my son, the little Handsome has gained over 3 lbs in just four weeks.
Still loving the extra pillow time I get from our change in work hours. It does seem we are still caught in traffic in the morning, but the drive home is a breeze.
Finally some warm, sunny days have come along to lift my spirits.
That's it for this week, short and sweet. Off to link up with Virginia and Annie now.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!
Hugs,
Michelle

Some happy mail in the post this week. A lovely postcard from Lisca in Spain. It was totally unexpected and not necessary, but definitely appreciated, so thank you Lisca for adding to my smiles this week.

Wow, how can it be Wednesday already? This week just seemed to fly past. Around here Wednesday means one thing only, and that is showing off our desks to other like-minded folk. Julia is the mastermind behind this and the original show me yours and I'll show you mine lady.
What we have here is a hot mess. Card making is in full swing, with lots of ideas floating around in my noggin that have to be channeled onto paper. I must get a card reader because phone pictures leave a lot to be desired and my camera is much better, but my laptop is in a mood and doesn't want to play with others right now.

Rocking Your World Friday-Week 15
Wow how the time flies. Let's see what's been making everyone do a happy dance this week. Join up with Virginia and Annie and help make the cyber world a happier place. :-)
This week what Mr R has been trying to have happen for quite a while now has finally materialized. He now works in the warehouse instead of driving a truck all day. Why is this rocking my world? Because our hours have now changed and we don't start work until 10 in the morning which means an extra 2 hours between the sheets for me! Granted, we don't finish until later in the evening, but that also has its pluses as we are no longer stuck in traffic for our morning and evening commutes.
Our new grandbaby is doing very well. He is 3 weeks old today and has put on nearly 2 lbs since coming home from the hospital.
The little Gorgeous started her swimming lessons last Sunday and was happier than could be. They are half hour long, and she managed to stay focused on her instructor for 25 minutes. Not too shabby for a two year old.
Here are my smiles for the week.
Love my little ones!
Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous week!

Not only is it Wednesday again, but I've been MIA for the last couple of weeks. Between getting used to new hours at work and that handsome new grandson of mine, crafting time has been hard to come by.
Fortunately I was able to sneak in a little bit of desk time and the evidence is pictured here.
A whole bunch of stuff and one card I'm still working on. What you can't see is off to the right is a stack of five cards waiting to be packaged up as well as a couple of samples with the project supply list for each one. I have to tell you, that container of samples and their supplies is a lifesaver sometimes when I need a quick card.
Join in with Julia and the rest of us and play peek-a-boo with some fun and crafty desks.

Rocking Your World Friday-Week 12
I seem to have lost a week somehow. Ah well, it wasn't a very eventful one anyway. This week has been full of good stuff.
The work week seems to have flown by, which is always a positive in my books!
Mr R seems to be fully healed and back to his normal self which is wonderful (trust me on this, I live with him and a grouchy Mr R is just not fun LOL).
We dropped our car off at the body shop on Monday morning and by Wednesday afternoon it was as good as new. That was lovely as I wasn't fond of the rental car we were driving.
Thursday morning my lovely d-i-l's water broke, but as labour hadn't started her midwife told her to stay home and relax. This morning they headed off to the hospital, where she was given an epidural as she was experiencing a great deal of pain. Unfortunately, that prolongs the process, but at least she was able to relax.
So this, my lovely readers is the highlight of my week.
Just 2 1/2 hours old :-)
On this happy note I will like up with Virginia and Annie and pop round to see what everyone else is smiling about this week.
Thanks for stopping by.

Wednesday has rolled around again so here we are showing off our lovely (or not LOL) workspaces. Before giving you a peep show of mine, I just want to let our intrepid leader Julia know that I am thinking of her, and if the support of her family, friends and deskers everywhere could help make a difference, she'd be well tomorrow!
My desk today is for you, all the lovely people who visit and leave me comments.
Thanks for stopping by.
Hugs (and an extra one for Julia),

Rocking Your World Friday-Week 10
Here we are at Friday again. What a mixed bag of a week it's been. Not an awful lot has been going on, but lets see what we can make out of it.
Happily, I seem to be back at 100% which makes work much easier and I've managed to get in some crafty time as well. That definitely adds to the positive side!
On the down side, Mr R's work injury claim for his back was denied by some silly person without even having an examination done.
Plus side, we managed to get in to see a chiropractor who thinks that it is definitely a work related injury and will be pushing to have the claim put through. He is also working on Mr R's back and it seems to be helping a bit.
Another plus is getting the MRI appointment he's been waiting for, and it only took a month which is quite speedy in reality.
Sadly, on the way home from our first appointment someone rear-ended us on the highway and did some damage to the car. Fortunately it was a very nice gentleman and he will be coming with us to the body shop this weekend to find out how much it will cost and pay the repair bill. On the plus side, neither one of us was injured and cars can be fixed.
Overall it must have been a good week because I'm ending it with a smile on my face. Oh, wait, that might just be because it's Friday and the work week is over! LOL
Don't forget, if you would like to receive a handmade birthday card from me, send me your snail mail details to scrapworx@hotmail.ca and I will get one out to you, even if your birthday has already passed.
This is something that really gave me a smile this week. Papa fell asleep on the couch, so the little Gorgeous grabbed her blanket and snuggled up to him and watch cartoons,
I'm off to join up with Virginia and Annie and see what is making others smile this week.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful week!

Is it Wednesday already? I'm not too sure where the last week went, it seemed to fly past. This means it's time to join up with Julia and have a looky loo at our weekly desk messes productivity.
The only thing I have to show this week is a pile of ink pads, a color book and some scratch paper which I have been doing some colour testing on. Boring I must say.

Rocking Your World Friday-Week 9
Well, here we are at the end of another week. It's been a pretty good week actually. I seem to have more energy and managed to get some card making done in the evenings.
I'm back at work now (boo, hiss), but since there are bills to be paid that's where I need to be LOL.
It's been a really low-key week with not much going on which has been very nice. Spent the whole weekend at home relaxing and napping when the urge hit. It was quite decadent really.
Mr R and I have been catching up on some of our favorite shows that we recorded this week while eating dinner. Why do they air them after my bedtime??? It seems I'm always in catch up mode.
I mentioned in Wednesday's post (WOYWW 351) that I am joining in the movement to bring birthdays back. Take a look at that post for the details, and if you would like to join in and receive a handmade birthday card from me just send me an email to scrapworx@hotmail.ca with your name, address and birthday.
And now I will leave you with a couple of smiles before I hook up with Virginia and Annie, two women who make the world a happier place.
Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous week!

Michelle

It's good to see there are still friends in the playground at Julia's house. I mentioned in another post that I've been feeling poorly for the last several weeks. It's been a stretch just to get the dishes done and make sure everyone has clean underwear in the dressers, but that is not really doing much for my creative soul. To that end I have decided I need to give myself a kick in the creative rear end and just do something. I have made a few cards, but nothing except what I needed immediately. I think it's time to try and change that, so over the last few days I've made myself sit down at my desk. I have to admit, it's nice being creative, even if it's only for short periods of time.
This is what my desk looked like on Monday night. You can just see hints and peeks of what I was working on over the last couple of days.
And this evening I have this lovely pile of cards.
There's a new movement that has been started by a Shannon West in the USA called "I'm Bringing Birthdays Back" (#imbringingbirthdaysback). Basically her premise is that in our modern, fast-paced world, the computer has become our main way to communicate. Very few people send cards by good old-fashioned snail-mail anymore. Our mailboxes are filled with junk mail and bills. What a happy surprise it is to find a real letter or card in amongst the piles.
In the spirit of this movement, I'm sending out birthday cards to everyone that would like to receive one. Just send me an email with your name, address and birthdate to scrapworx@hotmail.ca
Has your birthday already passed? No problem, I'd still like to send you a card because everyone loves to receive happy mail!
If anyone else would like to join in, please do and we can spread mailbox smiles all over the world!
Thanks for stopping by!
Hugs,
Michelle

Rocking Your World Friday-Week 8
Wow, 8 weeks into the year already. Time has passed me by lately. I've been feeling rather poorly since about the middle of January and there doesn't seem to be an end in sight. As I sit here right now, I don't even have any voice left. I think the family might be enjoying that because I can't tell them what to do! LOL Even poor Mr R is down with a back issue, and the little Gorgeous is a sickie as well. What a sad houseful we are right now.
We celebrated the Gorgeous' second birthday on February 13th. I can't believe she is 2 already. It seems such a short time since she came into our lives. And that evening we attended my D-I-Ls baby shower. Considering she's 8 months along, she looks stunning (admittedly biased opinion LOL). I have to find one of the bump--it's so adorable!
These are definitely my smiles for the week.
Even though I've been off work for a little bit I haven't done an awful lot of card making. I did manage to make the birthday and shower cards and a few others. Not as many as I would have liked though.
That's about all the excitement. Here's to hoping that next week will see me feeling like my normal self again.
For more positives pop on over and visit with Virginia and for some more smiles Annie's door is always open.
Have a wonderful week my friends!
Hugs,
Michelle

Rocking Your World Friday-Week 1
Well, here we are at the start of a brand new year. After being away from my blog for a couple of very busy weeks I'm glad to be back. Let's see what's made me happy over the last little while.
The week before Christmas, Mr R insisted that we drive my elderly parents to my sister's house in Ottawa where they would be spending Christmas. My sister was unable to drive down and get them and suggested that maybe they could take a coach. Mr R wouldn't hear of it and we made the 9 hour round trip so they could travel comfortably. They always do so much for us, it was nice to be able to do something for them in return.
On Christmas Eve I decided that I was tired of my hair, so I went from lower back length, curly brown hair to a jaw length blonde. I love it, and it was a huge shock to my extended family who can't remember when I had short hair last.
We had a lovely Christmas day at home and the Gorgeous was so excited to see what Santa had brought her. It all looked rather nice before the carnage began!
We had a lovely dinner with all the trimmings and plenty of leftovers for the next few days, which was a good thing as on the 27th I packed up the Gorgeous, Handsome Son and Beautiful Daughter-in-Law and headed to Ottawa for four days. We all converged on my sisters house, where my parents had spent Christmas, along with my niece, her husband and their 2 littles who came all the way from Australia. A good time was had by all, and many drinks were consumed by my niece and I (we go a little crazy when we get together as we only see each other every couple of years and we quite close in age). The Gorgeous really enjoyed meeting her cousins and had loads of fun playing with them. And modelling her new robe and slippers.
As a wonderful surprise, while I was away Mr R put away all the Christmas decorations and did all the laundry. Just one of the reasons I would never trade him in!
As we don't return back to work until January 11th, I'm hoping to get some serious card making in during the remaining time. I so enjoyed last years Xmas Card of the Month posts that I think I will so it again this year. As a bonus, all my Christmas cards are ready to go at the beginning of December.
Now, to link up with Virginia who always finds something positive in her life. It looks like Annie might be to busy smiling to post her Friday Smiles, but I can always catch up with her next week.
Wishing you all a happy, healthy and prosperous 2016!
Hugs,
Michelle

Xmas Card of the Month (December)
Here we are at the final card of this year long series. As I write this post, all my cards have been written, addressed, stamped and dropped off at the post office. *insert smug smile here* LOL. Really, I'm never this organized with my Christmas cards.
This month I decided to go for a bit of whimsy. The original card came from Fiona Whitten and I pretty much copied it directly. Really, I couldn't resist as it is such a fun card.
Thanks for stopping by.

Rocking Your World Friday Week 49
What a shock to realize we are in December already. I swear, the older I get, the faster the year seems to whiz by. It's time to join up with my friends Virginia and Annie and give a shout out to happy moments and things that made you smile.
First off, my smile photos. While schlepping around with Ms Dee so she could finish up her Christmas shopping (Mr R and I are done of course so insert self-satisfied smile here!) I came across this adorable stuffy. He was 40% off and naturally hopped right into my cart. Sad confession, I love my English Bullies so I actually bought him for myself lol.
Every day when the tree lights go on, the little Gorgeous has to stop and say "Hi tree". I just couldn't resist the rear view shot of her pigtails. She's getting so big. I do feel I should point out the the baby gate is not to keep her out, but to keep the Bullies out as the chinchilla cage is in the living room and they like to torture the poor little guy.
It's actually been a fairly quiet week around our house as Ms Dee and the Gorgeous are in the city visiting her aunt. As much as I adore them both, the break has been nice for Mr R and I.
We had our company Christmas dinner last night and it was quite enjoyable. Good food, good companions and lots of laughter. Really, what more can you ask for?
Well, I'm off to tidy up and try and wrap all the presents that are laying around the house.
Have a wonderful week and thanks for stopping by!
Hugs,
Michelle

Did You Win?
I would like to thank everyone who left a comment on my blog over the last few days.
In order to determine the winner, I assigned a number to your comment based on the order in which they appeared starting with my post on November 16 and continuing in numerical order to November 22. I then asked our impartial judge, Mr R, to pick a number between 1 and 15. After much deliberation, the number Mr R picked is 9.
Thanks for taking part and stopping by.
Hugs,
Michelle

Rocking Your World Friday Week 47
Here we are at the end of another week, and what a mixed bag of a week it's been.
Let's start with my smile for the week. Finally, after two years of saying it, Mr R and I went out and bought a new artificial tree. 7 1/2 feet of pre-lit beauty. Of course, as soon as we brought it home we had to put it up and decorate it. No sense leaving it in the box hanging around for another couple of weeks right? Sorry for the not-so-great cell phone pic.
And the little Gorgeous helping Papa put ornaments on the tree.
While we were at it, we put up some decorations outside. It seems we started a trend because now the neighbour across the road has put up his outdoor lights as well. I love it when the neighbourhood looks festive!
On the down side, I had a bit of chair accident at work. While leaning over to hand paperwork to someone, my chair tipped right over and spilled me onto the floor. Wouldn't have been too bad except I landed on the arm and now my thigh has a lovely dark purple bruise that is bigger than my hand and hurts like crazy. Serves me right I guess--next time, don't be so lazy and get up!
I've had a couple of normal length days, a couple of late days and managed to get out by 3:15 pm on Thursday--that was pure bliss.
This weekend we have planned to go Xmas shopping for the little Gorgeous and with any luck will have it all done and wrapped up by Sunday.
So, nothing too exciting, but I will hook up with Virginia and Annie and see what everyone else has been up to.
Don't forget about the give-away I announced on November 16--just leave a comment on any of my posts from November 16-22 for a chance to win a set of my Xmas Cards of the Month. I will post anywhere, so don't be shy and do leave a comment to enter!
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful week!
Hugs,

Hugs,
Michelle

WOYWW 337
It's been a while, but I've come by to play with Julia today.
A small box of goodies from Stampin' Up is littering my desk today. I'm too late to use the Halloween goodies, but really I bought them to use for class treats for when the little Gorgeous finally goes to school (I know, it's still a couple of years, but they were so cute I couldn't resist!). The cute little snowmen and penguin are being put to use making this years Christmas tags. There's also a little pile of cards on the left.
Please see my post from November 16 for a giveaway and don't forget to check back on November 23 when I will announce the winner.
Thanks for stopping by.
Hugs,
Michelle

Rocking Your World Friday Week 46
Another Friday has rolled around again, which means it's time to share some happies for the week.
A definite happy this week is finally going to pick up some of our firewood for the winter. There's nothing like a cozy fire to make a chilly evening so much better. Now, just a couple more pickup truck loads to go and we'll be set.
The new blinds being installed in my office. Unfortunately the whole week was cloudy so I didn't even need to use them. Ah well, there's always hope for next week!
Long days at work, which are definitely not a happy for me, but Mr R loves them as he is able to make some overtime hours. Me, I spent Wednesday and Friday evening waiting for him until 8:00pm. This meant not arriving home until 9, just in time to eat something quick and head for bed. Ah well, at least I am blessed to work at the same company as Mr R so that we can commute together and he does all the driving while I read.
Some happy mail when I got home last night. My Paper Pumpkin craft kit was waiting for me on my doorstep. Hopefully that means I can have some crafty time today!
Sunday was partly spent outside cleaning up all the leaves that had fallen. While us bigs weren't too thrilled with the chore, the little didn't seem to mind at all.
And on that happy note I'm off to link up with Virginia and Annie for her Friday Smiles.
Have a wonderful week and thanks for stopping by!

Michelle
